This blog is a communication platform for the latest information about international events and activities at Universidad del Este (UNE) .

About UNE:
Universidad del Este is the youngest institution in the Ana G. Méndez University System (AGMUS),with its creation resting on the historical and educational prestige of Puerto Rico Junior College — the first institution on the island to offer Associate Degree programs (1949).

Between 1990 and 1991, the institution extensively revised its mission in an effort to respond more effectively to the challenges and needs of the community. This included three significant changes: a new name, higher level academic programs (Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees), and the relocation of the main campus to a new geographic market (Carolina).

UNE’s main campus is located in Carolina, Puerto Rico, and the institution’s primary student population represents Puerto Rico’s northeast region. The student body is comprised of young students from various socio-economic backgrounds, with most coming from the public school system. UNE also serves the educational and training needs of non-traditional students, adults, and workers who are looking to further themselves professionally and personally.

The principles that guide UNE are excellence, innovation, justice, respect, freedom of thought and action, solidarity with our community, equity, integrity, and social responsibility.
